About Janice Meighan 
 
Janice is a ritual specialist, coach and educator.
 
She holds her Master's degree in Religious Studies (in the humanities) from the University of Toronto, specializing in Religion and Public Life. Her B.A. and Honours B.A. degrees from York University are in Religious and Ritual Studies where she explored the world's dominant and less-known religions from various perspectives. She also studied the art, meaning and place of ritual in our lives. Janice holds certificates in counselling, leadership training, grief and bereavement education.

Since 2007, Janice has utilized her compassion, education, multiple talents and skills as an experienced and licensed presider to create unique and customized ceremonies that bring meaning to the lives of those she works with.Whether it is a civil, spiritual, or traditional ceremony, or a desire to blend traditions, Janice works with individuals, couples and families ~ the whole community. Janice serves those who generally do not have a traditional religious affilitation, or who have left their faith tradition completely, or who may have a limited affiliation with their tradition but want to mark significant occasions and times in their lives. Janice is also a conference speaker on rituals, death and dying, and celebrations. 
 
             
Janice is a mother-by-marriage to two terrific adults and lives in Toronto with her husband Ken Ramsay.  
 
Janice enjoys walking, hiking, gardening, cooking and sharing time with friends and family. For the last decade she volunteers with the Survivor Support Program in Toronto (Distress Centres) and West Hill United Church. 
 
Sadly, we, like so many others, had to have our magical black cat Max euthanized in June 2012. A ritual to honour his 18 years of life and companionship, and the interment of his remains, took place in August 2012.

Janice is an ordained minister with Clergy Support Memorial Church (Reverend Janice Meighan) and considers herself to be a Life Minister and Licensed Officiant for the Whole Community.
